New control software SEQUENCE Xpert

Up to now, “SERVOLASER Xpert” by LAP has been used as a laser positioning system integrated directly into machines. It is now possible to apply it in areas where no PLC is available. The Windows-optimized software “SEQUENCE Xpert” enables intuitive and user-friendly control of SERVOLASER Xpert from your PC, laptop or tablet. This means that it can be used anywhere where precisely movable line lasers are required for quality assurance.

SEQUENCE Xpert is the answer for many companies that want to use movable laser positioning systems for visual quality assurance but have so far been unable to do so. “We have received numerous inquiries from companies, for example from the precast concrete parts or textile industries, which would like to use SERVOLASER Xpert. Often, however, a machine controller is not available. SEQUENCE Xpert provides a solution for precisely these cases,” explains Christoph Kähler, product manager for line lasers at LAP.

Control laser positioning without a PLC

SERVOLASER Xpert is a precise laser positioning system which is enjoying great success in production and quality assurance in tire manufacture. The system is equipped with movable laser modules which can be positioned independently of each other. Precisely projected laser lines thus ensure the exact positioning of layers during tire building. For integration into tire-building machines, the laser modules can be controlled by almost all the PLCs available on the market. SEQUENCE Xpert now enables control entirely without a PLC. This enables the most diverse applications to be realized: from quality assurance for industrial textiles to the visual control of distances in the precast concrete parts industry. Overlapping traversing paths up to 2.6 meters long, speeds of up to 1,000 mm/sec and multicolor projections enable a broad range of applications.

Configure, control, visualize – on your tablet or PC

SEQUENCE Xpert is coming onto the market with an interface optimized for Windows 7 and 10. The modern design, with an integrated virtual keyboard, is also optimized for touch displays. Thanks to a user-friendly user interface, all the functions can be operated intuitively. This enables parameters such as positions of laser modules, traversing speed or the brightness of the individual modules to be set. The graphic representation adapts itself automatically to the set laser colors (red, green, blue). The user can also create and edit sequences and thus depict the necessary working steps needed for the application. The individual steps can be worked through by mouse clicks and/or according to a schedule. The order of sequences can be easily monitored on the main screen. SEQUENCE Xpert can be ordered free of charge with SERVOLASER Xpert. The software is available immediately for 32-bit and 64-bit systems. A detailed user manual in German, English, French and Chinese is included in the scope of delivery.
