LAP GmbH Laser Applikationen and Pius-Hospital Oldenburg enter into an innovation partnership for the further development of radiotherapy

LAP GmbH Laser Applikationen and Pius-Hospital Oldenburg, as part of the University Medical Center Oldenburg, announce a groundbreaking innovation partnership. The cooperation aims to improve radiotherapy in cancer treatment by developing innovative technologies.

LAP GmbH is a world leader in systems for increasing quality and efficiency in the healthcare sector and industry. Its state-of-the-art systems are used worldwide for precise patient positioning. In addition, LAP phantoms and software enable reliable and fast quality assurance in radiotherapy.

Pius-Hospital Oldenburg, the largest Catholic hospital in northwest Germany with 13 clinics and many institutes and specialist departments, is contributing its expertise and clinical resources to the partnership.

The focus of the collaboration is on supporting reproducible patient positioning and monitoring of patient surface movement during radiotherapy and radiosurgery treatments, as well as CT simulation for radiotherapy planning using LAP's innovative LUNA 3D Surface-Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) system.
