Innovative measuring system celebrates premiere at Wire & Tube 2024
At the start of Wire & Tube 2024 in Düsseldorf, KOCKS and LAP will present the jointly developed 4D EAGLE S measuring system for precise profile measurement and surface inspection. As part of a far-reaching strategic alliance, the two companies will offer steel producers advanced measuring systems for various applications in the future.
In December 2023, KOCKS Measure + Inspect GmbH & Co. KG and LAP Measurement Technology GmbH made a long-term development and sales cooperation public. This collaboration has now resulted in the state-of-the-art 4D EAGLE S measuring system.
The system uses laser light section technology to capture the complete profile of long products and precisely detect and classify various rolling defects. Users can access the modern software application SMART CORE X for a detailed analysis of the acquired data. 4D EAGLE S can also be integrated into higher-level quality assurance systems using OPC-UA.
Two systems have already been successfully installed and put into operation at a well-known German steel manufacturer before their official premiere. On the occasion of the industry trade fair, the official premiere in front of a trade audience followed, including the ceremonial unveiling of the device at the joint booth. At the same time, this marks the start of the global market launch of 4D EAGLE S.
